End of 100-year-long loneliness

19 October 2009 / STAR ERGUN BABAHAN,
A period is ending while another is emerging. The cliché “Turks have no friends other than Turks” is invalid; we are becoming friends again with our neighbors after burying our historical hostilities.
We are trying to face the lies of history. We are beginning to question how Armenians have disappeared from these lands despite a 1,000-year-long presence. And we are facing the Kurdish reality; the 100-year-long loneliness is ending. Now, the era of openness is beginning. Of course, there is resistance against what is coming. What is about to arrive will replace the old setting; of course, those who rely on this setting are afraid of what is coming. The number of those who understand what is coming is not so large yet, but there are people who appreciate this.
