There has now been a century of animosity between the Armenians and the Turks. So let’s think, what can we do?
What would you say, for example, about making militaristic threats every now and then at Yerevan and holding rallies at which we yell the slogan, “The army to Yerevan!” Or how about placing an embargo on Iran, Russia, etc., in other words, other nations that carry out trade with Armenia, all in the name of worsening the economic situation in Armenia? Well, it’s fairly clear that these old-style policies would really only help create a situation in Armenia’s favor and not in Turkey’s favor. So what should be done? Well, it’s at this point then that knowledge and creativity about the dynamics of our era, as well as our role in our region and the world, are so critical to finding a solution. In short, we need vision.
