Alfred Brendel to open concert series at Boğaziçi

Acclaimed Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel, regarded as one of the most thoughtful interpreters of classical Germanic works, will open this autumn's weekly concert series at İstanbul's Boğaziçi University next week with a conference-recital.
The 78-year-old virtuoso, who is also a poet and author, will be onstage Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Albert Long Hall for a program that will feature works by Beethoven and Haydn. Ticket price: TL 25, TL 20
