17 September 2009 / THE ANATOLIA NEWS AGENCY, LEFKOŞA
President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias met for the 42nd time under the Cyprus talks in Lefkoşa.

During the meeting, the leaders will discuss proposals related with the issue of "federal execution" under the topic "administration and power  sharing".

Talat and Christofias made several proposals during their last meeting on September 10 in a bid to soothe differences on "federal execution" which was the beginning of the second round of talks.

The Cyprus talks began in September 2008 in an effort to find a solution to the Cyprus issue. The first round of the talks were completed on August 6, 2009. And the second round started on September 10.

The next meeting will take place on October 2.

Meanwhile, President Talat will pay a visit to New York next week to meet with UN secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
