Six dead, 14 injured in Erzincan traffic accident

Six people were killed and 14 others injured when a bus collided with an automobile.

Six people are dead and another 14 injured after an accident involving a passenger bus and a car on the Erzincan-Erzurum highway.
According to reports, a bus headed to Ağrı from İstanbul collided with an automobile with Georgian plates just 10 kilometers from Erzincan on the Erzincan-Erzurum highway. The Erzincan State Hospital released a statement saying that the bus had been attempting a turn to make a stop at a gas station when a vehicle coming in the opposite direction collided with it while changing lanes. Hospital officials also said none of those hospitalized after the crash had life-threatening injuries.

Those who died in the crash were reported as being the following foreign nationals, all traveling in the Georgian automobile: driver Denis Davidov (40), Lasha Tsagareıshvılı (41), Teo Berdzenıshvılı (42), Karen Khachatryan (41), Levon Khachryan (18) and Gayane Harutyunyan (40).

Meanwhile, a minibus carrying members of an amateur youth soccer team from Sivas collided with a truck along the Sivas-Erzincan highway yesterday. According to reports, the truck collided with the minibus as it was making a turn, causing the minibus to overturn. Nobody was killed in the accident.
