Security forces on alert against looters

Many security forces have been mobilized in various İstanbul districts to prevent any act of looting. Footage from a private news agency showed men plundering various items from nearby vehicles rescued from floods in İkitelli.
In Halkalı, looters attempted to steal goods from a ceramics factory that had been inundated by the floods. Police had difficulty removing them from the factory. One person was taken into custody. Stores selling white goods were also the target of looters in the Bağcılar, Küçükçekmece and Başakşehir districts. Several men were seen arriving at flooded shops with bags and sacks and carrying irons, heaters and similar goods out of the stores. A young boy carrying a computer monitor said he took the device from a store. “I found it. I plan to sell it,” he said.
