Davutoğlu met with Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu in Ankara on Wednesday. He will also meet with Kosovar Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni, who will start a two-day visit to Turkey today. Davutoğlu will fly to Slovenia on the weekend for a visit at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart, Samuel Zgobar.
Hyseni will be the first foreign minister from Kosovo to visit Turkey since his country declared independence from Serbia in February 2008. Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo as an independent state.
While in Ankara, Hyseni will also be received by President Abdullah Gül and Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Şahin and will discuss bilateral and regional issues, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry yesterday.
In Slovenia, Davutoğlu will participate in an international forum and address a session on global governance in the 21st century. He will also have talks with President Danilo Turk, Chairman of the National Assembly Pavel Gantar and Prime Minister Borut Pahor.
