Dutch police have announced that a Turkish suspect is wanted for the murder of a Turkish woman in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam earlier this month. Arzu Erbaş Çakmakçı, 33, was stabbed to death on Aug. 10 outside the daycare center she owned. Çakmakçı, who was married and had two children aged 7 and 14, had received awards and been received by the Dutch royal family for her charity work.

The Amsterdam Police Department, which assembled a 30-member team to investigate the murder, announced earlier this week that the suspect in the murder is Nevzat Koyak, 41, an alcoholic and drug addict who has been residing illegally in the Netherlands.

The police have established a special telephone line for information on the whereabouts of Koyak, while photographs of the suspect have been shown on television channels. Assuring that the names of those who provide information will be kept confidential, the Amsterdam police also pledged to give 5,000 euros rewards to those who assist in capturing Koyak. The police, meanwhile, did not provide any information on a probable motive for the murder.
