A Turkish aesthetic surgeon has developed a new technique for rhinoplasty which prevents the risk of bone destruction.
The new technique, developed by Dr. Yakup Avşar from İstanbul, introduces ultra-micro motor systems with micro saws, micro rasps and endoscopic instruments which reduce the risk of the bone being destroyed, which may occur when a nasal bump is removed by more powerful instruments. "The control of cutting in micro motor technology is completely in the hands of the aesthetic surgeon and doesn't rely on the input of a hammer by an assistant. Also the direction of the osteotomy is easily controlled in this system rather than with a hammer," Avşar says. The new technique also prevents swelling in the tissue and bruising in the face.
