Kuveyt Türk net profits soar by 73.6 percent in H1

The net profits of the participation bank Kuveyt Türk increased to TL 83.19 million in the first half of the year, growing 73.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

According to the financial statements in the independent audit report that the bank prepared for the Banking Supervision and Regulation Agency (BDDK), the bank's total assets rose 28.11 percent in the first half to TL 6.2 billion from TL 4.86 billion a year ago.

The total cash loans, on the other hand, were TL 4.4 billion, marking a 10.2 percent increase from last year's TL 4 billion. Kuveyt Türk's funds, including both time deposits and current accounts, reached TL 4.77 billion in the first six months of this year, 37.4 percent more than the same period in 2008.

Its equities rose by 21.27 percent to TL 763 million in the given period. The bank opened seven new branches in the first half of the year to bring the total number of branches to 120. It currently employs 2,350 people.
