Iraqis wounded in bomb attack brought to Turkey

A total of 12 Iraqis, who were wounded in a recent bomb attack in Mosul town of Iraq, were brought to Turkey for treatment on Saturday.

Releasing a written statement, Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the wounded Iraqis, together with their companions and an Iraqi deputy, arrived in Turkey with a military ambulance plane.

Upon their arrival, the injured Iraqis, including 2 children and 2 women, were sent to several hospitals for treatment. One of them is in critical condition, officials said.

Speaking to the Anatolia news agency upon his arrival in Turkey, Iraqi parliamentarian Dr. Hanain El-Qaddo thanked the Turkish government for its support.

The plane which was sent to Mosul to pick up the wounded Iraqi citizens delivered Turkish Red Crescent's humanitarian aid to the region as well.

"We will carry on with out humanitarian aid aiming to ease the difficulties the Iraqi people are facing during this critical period in the country," the ministry's statement said.

In a bomb attack waged in Kazna village of Mosul town on August 10, 25 people were killed and 75 were wounded.
