Fenerbahçe striker Dani Gonzalez Güiza was included in a 21-man squad named by Spain coach Vicente del Bosque for next week's friendly against Macedonia. However, Osasuna defender Nacho Monreal was the surprise inclusion.
The 23-year-old full back was the only new face as Del Bosque stood by the core of the side he led to the Confederations Cup in South Africa two months ago. "Monreal comes from the Under-21s, he has been in the Primera Liga for four years and has played many games. He has a lot of experience despite his youth," Del Bosque, also a former coach of the Beşiktaş Black Eagles, told a news conference.
