“If there are serious errors in the investigation into the murder case, we may establish a parliamentary commission in the next legislative year,” Üskül told reporters on Wednesday. The decapitated body of Karabulut, 17, was found in a bag inside a dumpster in İstanbul's Etiler district on March 5, with her head inside a guitar case on top of the bag. Since then police have been searching for the girl's boyfriend, Cem Garipoğlu, in connection with the murder.Üskül said Parliament's Human Rights Committee would ask for detailed information on the case from the Interior Ministry and the İstanbul Public Prosecutor's Office. “If we detect any deficiency in the ongoing investigation into the murder case, we will discuss the establishment of a commission in Parliament,” Üskül noted. Earlier this week Karabulut's father, Süreyya Karabulut, sent separate letters to deputies, asking for help finding his daughter's murderer.
“My beloved daughter was viciously killed around four months ago by an individual or individuals who lack human dignity. Even though a long time has passed since the murder, the killers have not been found, which makes our grief even deeper. I am calling on you deputies to help find the murderers. This issue is no longer our own matter. It is the matter of every conscious person who wants to protect young people from danger,” Süreyya Karabulut's letter read.
