The daily said the third indictment against Ergenekon noted that retired Col. Levent Göktaş, who has been under arrest as part of the investigation since January, ordered an illegal team of officers under his command to assassinate Ergenekon prosecutors if he is not released from prison. According to the indictment, the assassinations were planned by Göktaş and the weapons, which belonged to another Ergenekon suspect, Bedrettin Dalan, were found buried underground in İstanbul's Poyrazköy district.
Bugün: “Sincan judge under investigation as part of Ergenekon probe” read the daily's lead headline yesterday, reporting that the Justice Ministry announced on Wednesday that Osman Kaçmaz, a judge at Sincan's First High Criminal Court, is under investigation as part of the probe into Ergenekon. A statement released by the ministry stressed that evidence and documents forwarded from the İstanbul Public Prosecutor's Office were deemed worthy of investigation. The ministry also noted that Kaçmaz was wiretapped by court order, in contrast to claims of Kaçmaz, who previously said that three inspectors from the Justice Ministry illegally wiretapped his phone and were trying to prosecute him based on evidence acquired through the wiretaps.
