Piyes's first directing effort set for September release

Turkish actor Haluk Piyes's directorial debut “Kanımdaki Barut” (Gunpowder in My Blood) will open in Turkish theaters on Sept. 18 via Warner Bros., the movie Web site sadibey.com reported.
The semiautobiographical film, which was inspired by writer-director-producer Piyes' early years in Germany, aims to delve into “the roots of violence” in society through the story of two brothers who witness their father as he murders their mother.
