Six people are dead and another five injured as a result of an accident in the capital that occurred when a truck hit passengers boarding a bus.
According to reports, a passenger bus driven by Hüseyin Koca and traveling from Çorum to İstanbul broke down in northern Ankara near Karapürçek a few hours before dawn yesterday morning. Another bus was dispatched to pick up passengers and bring them to their destination. When the bus arrived, passengers began disembarking from the first bus to transfer to the second. As the passengers were transferring their belongings to the new bus, a truck driven by G.B. ran into them and fled the scene. The hit-and-run driver was later captured by Ankara police near Anadolu Boulevard.Initial reports say six people died and five people were injured in the incident. The victims have been identified as Tuğba Karacif, Yasemin Yazar, Hasan Öztürk, Gülazer Erdemir, Mehmet Sabancılar and Emine Boyacı. Three of the wounded have been identified: Musa Kozan, Fadime Uzuner and Halil Alaca. All five of the injured have been hospitalized.
