Students from Turgut Özal Turkmen-Turkish High School won one silver and two bronze medals at the 41st International Chemistry Olympiad, held July 19-26 in Cambridge, England. Well known for its students' academic accomplishments, the Turkmen-Turkish high school performed well in this year's International Chemistry Olympiad. Amanmurat Abdullayev won a silver medal, while Nazar Mamedov and Vepa Rozıyev won bronze medals.
A total of 253 students from 66 countries participated in the Olympiad. Students competed against each other on both practical and theoretical chemistry knowledge. Speaking to Today's Zaman, Abdullayev said: “We competed against the clock during the Olympiad. The questions were hard, and time was very limited. We studied hard to achieve our success at the Olympiad.” Turgut Özal Turkmen-Turkish High School was established in Turkmenistan in 1992 under the umbrella of Capital Education Institutions, whose students performed successfully at 36 international Olympiads last year.
