The world and language that fascism invents are male-dominated. The fascist character of the efforts to drive women out of the public sphere betrays itself quickly.
A woman is either a mother or a servant, and she does not have any other social role. While maleness is glorified to the extent of worshiping it, woman is portrayed as slippery, dirty and unreliable. The strict and superior male identity survives by degrading woman. The part of fascism that upholds violence as a value is a cult of maleness. It perceives the soft presence of woman as a threat. A biological fear concerning maleness underlies this radical attitude. In addition to the physical violence it advocates, fascism also advertises an intense violence in its denigrating, sexually discriminatory language. Massive fascism that is isolated from history survives by making itself more flexible and refined in daily life, mostly dwelling in the maleness of language.
