İkbale Cebali, 66, who lost her vision five years ago, came to Turkey recently after treatments she had received in Albania proved ineffective. Cebali underwent a successful corneal transplant operation last Wednesday at Bahçelievler Medical Park Hospital, restoring her vision. The first person she saw after the operation was her husband, Mustafa. Cebali said she wanted to look at her children as much as possible when she returned to Albania.Cebali said what made her happiest was that she would be able to take care of 34-year-old daughter, who suffers from epilepsy. Stating that she had not been able to care for her daughter, who has frequent seizures, Cebali said: “Thank God, I am returning to my home with my eyes open. I used to feel upset since I was not able to help my daughter. Now I will be able to take care of her properly.”
Noting that she needed the help of her husband and children in her daily life, Cebali said she loved to cook, but was not able to do so. “I was not able to iron the clothes of my children, cook for them or walk on the street. I was almost reborn,” she said.
Her husband said Turkey was the right choice for them. Noting that Turkey provides better health services than Albania, he added that the quality of health services in Turkey is even better than Russia. “We used to go to Russia whenever we had a health problem before. But Turkey is now far better than Russia in the field of health. Turkey is whom we trust most on health issues,” he said.
