21 July 2009 / SABAH NAZLI ILICAK,
These days in Turkey, nothing stays a secret. Ali Suat Ertosun, a member of the Supreme Board of Prosecutors and Judges (HSYK), met in the middle of June with Ergenekon suspect Engin Aydın at the Kent Hotel.
Photographs of this meeting were published in the newspaper. It was also revealed in the media that Ertosun was pressuring the HSYK to have Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor Ergün Tokgöz, who was pursuing Ergenekon suspects as well as the JİTEM murders, replaced. But today [yesterday], the HSYK board is meeting. The board, which has seven members, will make a decision with a basic majority vote (at least four people). And if an undersecretary, or at least a ministry member representing that undersecretary, does not attend, the meeting cannot take place. Let's see then what happens today.
