71-year-old businessman ties knot with teenager

Halis Toprak, a famous 71-year-old businessman, has married for the third time, this time to a 17-year-old teenager who was required to present written permission from her parents to the authorities as she is not allowed to wed without permission until the age of 18.
Nazlıcan Tagizade tied the knot with Toprak after a wedding ceremony on Saturday in one of Toprak's summerhouses in the Aegean town of Kuşadası. Tagizade, who is 54 years younger than Toprak, will stay in Kuşadası with her new husband for their honeymoon. They may travel abroad for a holiday later, reports said. Toprak has had a long history of legal troubles with the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) which eventually appropriated his Toprakbank and Toprak Holding businesses.
Toprak's previous marriage, his second, to a woman 38 years his junior, also received media attention. He has had to pay a considerable amount in divorce settlements to both his previous wives. He divorced Ayşe Toprak, the mother of his 10 children, in 1997 after 33 years of marriage and was required to pay her TL 5 million ($3.25 million) as settlement. However, this disputed verdict was later changed to TL 540,000 ($352,000). Less than two years after his divorce, Toprak married his second wife, Özlem. Toprak suddenly divorced Özlem, the mother of his 12th child, in 2008 assigning her a TL 10,000 monthly payment and custody of their son.
