He said that intelligence officers had also played a role in the busts. He said that out of the 26 people detained in connection with the drugs, 21 had been arrested by court. Some marijuana connected to the PKK
According to the Anatolia news agency, 370 kilograms of the marijuana seized were discovered on a truck in a shipment connected to the PKK. The truck was reportedly en route to Van from Başkale along the Turkish-Iranian border. The two people caught with the shipment were identified as A.İ. -- a delegate of a local branch of the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) -- and his relative, E.Ö., wanted on charges of aiding and harboring the PKK. At the press conference, Mert said that of the six operations, one has been identified as being connected to the PKK while the others are still under investigation.
