Palestinian President Abbas arrives in Turkey

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has arrived in Turkey for a two-day visit for talks on Middle East peace efforts.
The Turkish President's office says Abbas is to meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan later on Thursday.
On Friday, he will hold talks with President Abdullah Gül and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Abbas will also attend the opening of a new Palestinian Embassy building in Ankara.
Turkey has mediated four rounds of peace talks between Israel and Syria last year and has also offered to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians.
