India's Ali, Oscar-winning Ward team up for Rumi film

Indian filmmaker Muzaffar Ali, who is known for his fascination with Sufism, is teaming up with Oscar-winning US screenwriter-director David S. Ward (“The Sting,” 1973) for an upcoming film on the life of 13th century Sufi saint Mevlana Jelalud-din Rumi, the Cihan news agency has reported.
The film, to be produced by the Qatar-based Fine Pearl Studios, will be financed by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
