History of Syriac language explored on big screen

“Yarına Bir Harf” (A Letter for Tomorrow), a 2007 documentary by Hakan Aytekin, will be screened tonight at the open-air movie theater of the Nazım Hikmet Culture Center in İstanbul's Kadıköy district.
The film aims to explore the historical background of the Syriac language through the world of priest Gabriel Aktaş, one of the last representatives of the Syrian manuscript tradition. The showing will start at 9 p.m. Tel.: (212) 414 2239
