A singer's struggle documented on big screen

“Hayatın Ritmi: Aksak” (When the Rhythm of Life Misses a Beat), directed by Turkish documentary maker Yasin Ali Türkeri, will be screened this week at the movie theater of İstanbul's Osmanlı Bank Museum.
The 46-minute film, a 2008 production, follows an Armenian singer-dancer called Ankine as she struggles to survive despite all the hardship she encounters. Two admission-free showings are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday.
