Traffic accident in Samsun kills 9, injures 9

Nine people were killed and nine others were injured in a traffic accident in the northern province of Samsun yesterday. The Anatolia news agency reported that a truck driven by Ahmet Coduroğlu collided with a minibus in the Kale area of Samsun province.
Nine passengers on the bus -- Erol Şahin, Ömer Şahin, Necmiye Kalelioğlu, Duygu Çakır, Abdurrahman Cömert, Hatice Ay, Muradiye Kalelioğlu, Sevilay Şahin and Gönül Genç -- died after being taken to nearby hospitals. Nine other passengers are currently receiving treatment for their injuries. The group in the minibus was reportedly returning home from a wedding they had attended the night before. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
