At Israel’s Hayfa port the fifth seek-and-rescue maneuvers started. The battleships affiliated with Turkish, American, and Israeli navies have joined the maneuver. The maneuver, it is named as “Confident Mermaid,” which is carried out just before a possible the U.S. operation in Iraq was perceived as a public demonstration of military and political cooperation among these three countries.
The battle-ships will be on high alert against a possible terrorist attack during the maneuvers that are in the command of Commander Dogan Bozkurt from Turkey, the Commander Ran Ben-Yehuda from Israel, and the Commander Mark R. Hogerott from the USA . The seek-and-rescue will be accompanied by planes in a 30 thousands square kilometer area. Israel with a three-missile-battery ship, Turkey with 3 frigates, and the USA with a frigate join the maneuvers.
