Actor Onur Bayraktar died after crashing into a barrier in İstanbul’s Üsküdar district shortly after midnight in the early hours of Friday, allegedly following suspected excessive speeding.
Bayraktar’s motorcycle collided with a taxi after first hitting the barriers on the side of the road. He sustained serious head injuries and died at the scene of the accident. He was later taken to the morgue of Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital. Bayraktar was a famous television figure, having had roles in many TV series after he graduated from İstanbul’s Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. His friends said they were shocked upon hearing the news and many were seen crying in the gardens of the hospital. They commented that Bayraktar was a competent motorcyclist and rode very well.
