The coast guard detained 115 illegal migrants in a town near Datça in the western province of Muğla on Monday, the Anatolia news agency reported.
Acting on a tipoff, the coast guard searched a yacht near the Palamutbükü district of Datça and captured 115 illegal migrants who were attempting to travel to other countries via Turkey.
Of those detained, 27 were children and 23 were women. Six Turkish nationals were also detained for aiding in human smuggling.
The illegal migrants are believed to have came from Burma, Afghanistan and Palestine.
They will be deported following legal proceedings.
