Numerous Turkish dailies reported on the funeral ceremonies of six victims of a deadly blast in the southeastern province of Gaziantep. A truck full of explosives was blown up near a police station on Monday night, killing nine people, including four children. The Turkish president, prime minister, several ministers, opposition party leaders and many others attended the funeral ceremony, which took place on Wednesday. Family and Social Policy Minister Fatma Şahin and Emine Erdoğan, the prime minister's spouse, also attended the funeral and conveyed their condolences to the victims' families, according the Milliyet and Sabah dailies.
Another story that was widely covered by the Turkish press was the abduction of Turkish cameraman Cüneyt Ünal in Syria. The Yeni Şafak daily has reported that no one has heard any news of him for more than two days. Ünal had been working for Arabic TV station Alhurra in Aleppo before he went missing.
Turkish dailies also reported on the death of four Turkish soldiers on Wednesday. Four soldiers were killed and six others were wounded in a clash with the PKK in Şemdinli in the southeastern province of Hakkari.
