The Altın Koza (Golden Boll) International Film Festival will hand out a total of TL 838,000 in prizes in this year’s edition, its organizers announced this week.
The festival, held annually by the Greater Adana Municipality in the southern city, will mark its 19th edition between Sept. 17-13.
The festival boasts three competitive sections: the national feature film competition, the international short film competition for films from Mediterranean countries and the national competition for student films.
Adana Mayor Zihni Aldırmaz said in a statement posted on the website of the municipality that the total prize amount to be handed out in the festival’s three competitions is TL 838,000. The winner of the best film award in the national feature competition will receive a cash prize of TL 350,000, Aldırmaz added. “We [the organizers of the festival] expect great interest in the festival this year.”
Applicants for the national feature film and national student films categories have until July 27 to send in their entries, while the deadline for entry in the category of short films from Mediterranean countries is July 6. For more information, visit www.altinkozafestivali.org.tr.
