The historic, the nostalgic and the off-beat: Antalya's ‘alternative' museums
13 November 2013, Wednesday / TERRY RICHARDSON, ANTALYA
The vast majority of visitors to the vibrant Mediterranean resort city of Antalya stick to a tried and tested itinerary. First-up is usually a mazy meander around the back streets of the historic walled quarter of Kaleiçi, a picturesque amalgam of Ottoman-era houses interspersed with older ruins such as the Roman period Hadrian's Gate and Seljuk-era Yivli Minare (Fluted Minaret), all tilting down haphazardly to the pretty yacht harbor at the foot of the cliffs.
