World’s tallest man may have stopped growing

The world's tallest man may have reached his peak after treatment at a US hospital.

Measuring in at 8-feet-3 inches, Sultan Kösen of Turkey is listed in the 2011 Guinness World Records as the tallest living man.

Sultan Kösen received treatment at the university of virginia Medical Center in May 2010 for treatment for a disorder called acromegaly, which is usually caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch ( reports that Kösen was placed on a new medication that could potentially help control the production of growth hormone and stop his continued growth.
