Turkish President Abdullah Gül canceled a trip to Italy on Wednesday night due to illness.
Gül was set to leave for Italy on Wednesday night to attend the 150th anniversary ceremony for Italian unification, which will start on Thursday morning. He was also set to make an official visit to Poland on Sunday.
The reasons behind Gül's illness have not been clarified, however, it has been reported by news agencies that the president has problems with his ear and that he has the flu.
The president was going to leave Turkey from İstanbul Atatürk Airport at approximately 5:00 p.m. It was reported by news agencies that the president hopes to feel better before Sunday in order to make his visit to Poland.
