Kosovo's new ambassador to Turkey, Avni Spahiu, presented his letter of credence to President Abdullah Gül on Wednesday.
Gül received Spahiu at the Çankaya presidential palace. The ambassador also introduced the employees of the embassy to Gül. The two posed for a photo after the meeting.
The ambassador was surprised to see dozens of journalists at the meeting. Seeing his guest's astonishment, Gül said the journalists were there to ask him questions. The president later declined to answer questions directed at him from the press.
Spahiu was Kosovo's ambassador to Washington before being appointed to Ankara.
