What country are these media based in?

They have coup tendencies, but like to appear as if they favor democracy. They are civilians, but they say, "Only the military can save us." When the military comes to power, they harshly criticize them as well; they just make the generals angry.
They execute for the regime and are the elements of psychological war. They are the slaves and maids of secret power holders, standing hand-in-hand with the military and other powerful actors. They engage in secret transactions; they hold negotiations with gendarmerie intelligence; they protest in favor of and advocate Ergenekon, a clandestine terrorist organization accused of plotting to overthrow the government.

They establish strong ties with actors in power; they revere the prime ministers to secure the profits and interests of their bosses.

They look as if they are promoting freedom of the press, but when the control of their rivals' papers is transferred to the state, they celebrate with a glass of champagne.

Instead of asking for good news reports from their employees, they, as editors-in-chief, order the reporters to bring expensive wines from abroad.

They have nothing to do with the truth; they have no attachment to honor.

They favor freedom of thought, but always take part in meetings at which coups are plotted. They have two hats: that of a media boss and that of a large company executive. They launch campaigns to show that secularism is in danger. They engage in spreading propaganda; they run reports to promote coups and lay down the groundwork for it. They put the blame on religious people just because they observe their religious duties and try to live in the world as decent people; they argue that these religious people simply want to acquire control of the state.

During coup attempts such as on Feb. 28 [1997], in which the military overthrew the government in an unarmed intervention, they assume a role following the suspension of the democratic order. They even declare their friends as enemies and traitors -- all because it's in their best interest in times like this. Then they want to make up for their actions and accusations by arguing that they were misled by the state and official authorities. They chair the Council of Press but never consider verifying controversial reports before publishing them. They do not think that misleading reporters means misleading and misinforming the public. They do not appreciate that their apology is actually worse than their mistake.

They praise people for securing their interests. They interfere with politics; they present alternatives to actors in power; they invent leaders. They assume that they are to appoint those in power and remove them from office. They think they can promote or destroy anyone. They ensure the resignation of members from parties. They create troikas by getting three obstinate groups together. Then, they show false reports on TV and publish them in papers to argue that 70 percent of the public supports their agenda. They cannot receive even 1 percent of the vote in elections.

They declare that the prime minister is sick just because the military does not want him in power. They launch a campaign to deliver the impression that he cannot properly perform his functions. They install a tent in front of the hospital hosting the prime minister to this end. They make distasteful reports and headlines about his health condition. And most clearly, when the current administration won a landslide victory in the latest elections, they were devastated. They insult the people, describing the voters as jarheads and couch potatoes. They got so upset that they even threatened the current prime minister because of his stance in Davos, implying that he will experience the fate of the prime minister who was executed in 1960.

As local elections approach, they dedicate large pages to municipal candidates they want to see in the mayoral posts. Their anchormen spread their propaganda. They are hypocrites; they have no principles; they have no sense of shame; they never blush out of shame. They never keep their promises; they make up reports; they care about no one's freedom but their own.

They stand in a place completely different than that of the nation, democracy, law and freedoms. Guess what country these media are based in.
