Everyone knew pandemonium was going to break out. Rumors had erupted; conspiracy theories were forecast based on possible general and the upcoming presidential elections. Finally, what was anticipated occurred and after the attack on the Turkish State Council, Turkey found itself in the middle of a new nightmare.
The bloody attack on the State Council is a turning point. Allah pitied the people and the murderer was arrested as he attempted to escape. People in this country owe much to the official, a very lucky man, who caught the murderer. Think for a moment, what would Turkey be talking about at this point in time if the killer had not been arrested? We recall the initial reactions even though the killer was arrested. Within the space of a few minutes, the country was dragged into a secular-anti-secular uproar. Men of high authority rushed to find a microphone to deliver serious accusations. Neither rights nor the law was heeded. Before long, an atmosphere was created in which all people inferred, “Armed killers have attacked to seize the republic regime.” However, this was the real intention of the attack.
Zaman’s headline was unforgettable: “Whenever you investigate, a gang appears” (May 20). This truly seems to be the case. We are faced with a gang, just like the other gangs that unraveled in recent years. These gangs include retired soldiers, mafia members, and power obtained through unlawful actions. Nationalism is the mask for gang activities. Be cautious; all gangs are anti-European Union, affiliated with the Cyprus issue, anti-government, check-bond cash collectors, and Kizilelma (Red Apple) related…
We should examine the Kizilelma organization once again. Its mastermind is the editorial writer for Turkey’s most conservative newspaper who occasionally visits the Ankara’s Cankaya presidential residence. He was also responsible for making legendary a political leader that he had been writing against for 40 years and invited him to lead a left-right alliance. We can understand his complex plans from his calling energetic powers to the stage when the State Council was attacked, and his silence after the killer and his gang were revealed.
Let’s go back and closely examine the organized gangs revealed over the last six months; we will see that, in this country, gangs have formed ideological alliances. However, neither the Sauna gang, revealed almost by accident, nor the Bursa or Semdinli gang have been investigated adequately; the events shifted from their true course after a while. These gangs can be traced back to important forces; however, since they are not investigated thoroughly, they are encouraged, let alone deterred. The public is curious about how much further this far-reaching gang; caught red-handed in the attack on the State Council, will be investigated? The Sauna gang was not investigated adequately; the gang, which rests its power on the “irregular warfare department,” was diluted by comparing it to “sauna.” If this gang’s connections had been investigated adequately, the attack on the State Council might never have happened. Whatever gang you investigate, you come across the same characters, links, methods, and goals. Is this a coincidence? I wonder just how many secret organizations go overlooked in this country and what clandestine plans they are developing to push this country into chaos?
How far the investigation into the treacherous attack on the State Council will reach is not known. However, one thing is certain: From now on, people will associate every conspiracy that causes secular-antisecular polarization and gives message that “the regime is under threat” with the attack on the State Council. Furthermore, they will recognize that there are some enraged groups who want to upset the country. Their first action ended in failure. Their further steps will remind us of the dirty and deep relations. The real damage was done to those who quickly delivered speeches long before the case was clarified, and pursed political and ideological interests out of a murder. They have risked their posts, seniorities, and experience.
Pro-juntas are in a difficult situation; I sincerely hope that circles of influence and authority have also understood this fact. Because there is a cause and effect relationship between the current incidents and those who recklessly evaluate past events. Since there is a witnessed crime, one should crackdown on the crime “no matter where it ends.” Otherwise, they will encroach on democracy…
