Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov has called on Turkish businessmen to invest in his country, especially in the gold industry, which produces 20 tons of gold annually.

Babanov emphasized the continuously improving relations between the countries with the support of Turkish President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and said the visa agreement is expected to contribute to economic relationships between the countries. He pointed out that the Kyrgyz Parliament facilitates all kinds of activities for investors and that businesses that pay a 20 percent tax are not inspected by any public or private institution. Expressing his gratitude to the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) for bringing investors to his country, he also explained Kyrgyzstan has great potential for tourism, agriculture, animal husbandry and the energy sector and hopes more Turkish businessmen invest in these fields.
