Cosmetics giant Sephora returns

Leading global cosmetics brand the French-based Sephora has returned to Turkey with a store at the İstinyePark mall in İstanbul after leaving the Turkish market seven years ago.Sephora Europe Region Director Dominique Dubald said they had chosen the wrong malls for their two Turkish stores seven years ago. "However, with this new store Turkey has become first country Sephora has returned to after leaving," he said at a press conference for the promotion of the new store. Dubald said they launched the store on Sept. 28 and have exceeded their sales goals by 270 percent in just three weeks. He remarked that the economic volume of the cosmetics market in Turkey -- a country of 73 million -- was around 150 million euros, while Greece with its population of 10 million boasts a cosmetics market worth around 500 million euros. "We want to invigorate the cosmetics market in Turkey," he said.
