“The Great Masters,” a traveling interactive exhibition that features the work of Renaissance masters Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael, is on display at the Tophane-i Amire cultural center in Istanbul’s Tophane quarter until July 31.
The Cer Modern museum in Ankara is showing “The Art of Escher and His Contemporaries,” an exhibition featuring the work of 20th-century Dutch printmaker Maurits Cornelis Escher, and printmakers artistically related to him, until Aug. 5. The museum is closed on Mondays.
An exhibition titled “İstanbul Eindhoven-SALTVanAbbe: 68-89,” presenting a selection of works created between 1968 and 1989 by artists from Turkey and the Netherlands, is on display until Aug. 26 at the contemporary art space SALT Beyoğlu in İstanbul.
SALT Galata, in İstanbul’s Tophane quarter, will display “Graft,” the fifth exhibition in its series titled “Modern Essays,” featuring the work of Aslıhan Demirtaş, until Aug. 26.
“Fifty Years of Urban Walls,” a retrospective of works by pioneering Turkish contemporary artist Burhan Doğançay, is on display at the İstanbul Modern until Sept. 23. The İstanbul Modern is also home to two other exhibitions: “After Yesterday,” a selection from its photography collection, and permanent exhibition “New Works, New Horizons.” The museum is closed on Mondays.
An exhibition titled “Padişahın Evi: Harem-i Hümayun” (The Sultan’s Home: The Imperial Harem) continues until Oct. 15 at the Topkapı Palace Museum’s Has Ahırlar Exhibit Hall, presenting the little-known details of the Ottoman harem and its hierarchical structure via 300 objects and paintings.
